@lickmesillyu You may wish to reconsider static stretches (as in the video) prior to exercise. It has been linked with decreases in performance, endurance, strength, and power. Stretching *after* exercise appears to fine, as it improves range of motion which is supposed to help prevent injury.
Personal trainers and athletes worldwide preach stretching religiously, without any actual science or evidence to support their views. It’s worrying :/

  4. bigchucker says:

Katrina is unfortunately wrong about stretching before strength training. This will only weaken your muscles before you work them…
For optimal strength gains, stretch the specific muscle only after you’ve worked it!

Thanks for the warm up! I hope this helps prevent the super soreness/stiffness I get after I work out! “Heey!” lol thanks Katrina!

I’ll stretch that part of yours. HINT HINT: that place between your legs

  9. dragonystic says:

stretching does not prevent injury. this myth needs to die.

    @prynkya

Which of the exercises would you recommend then?

    Kind regards,

  12. prynkya says:

You don’t have to do all this. The horse stance or a plie stretches the inner and outer thigh, the calves, the hips and your butt. So all you have to do next is stretch your arms, chest and core.

  13. lickmesillyu says:

i’ve only done this 3 times and before i could reach a little above my knee, and now i can reach my toes! thanks!

@orks2 Well there are all different theories, i find strecthcing helps me and the results dont lie, but do whatevers best for you.

  18. orks2 says:

@G00n3r4Life, yet you shouldn’t stretch a COLD muscle. And since before a strength workout a advanced athlete shouldn’t do cardio because he wants to squeeze out the max during the workout, you CANT stretch before the workout.
None the less, my family doctor told me not to stretch before i lift weights since the muscle is being weakened at the point. Even more i’ve seen a study that backs it up and has proven that stretching before weight lifting can increase chance of injury and decarse power.

  19. G00n3r4Life says:

@orks2 you are meant to strectch to get blood flowing to the muscles, you cant workout cold muscles as u wont get the most out of them and is prone to injury.

  20. mizznini725 says:

    Thanks I needed that!
    Especially for my lower back!

  21. orks2 says:

Failed. You don’t stretch before strength workouts. Why would you stretch a muscle before you squeeze it. That’s not what they teach to doctors.

  22. hapa1510 says:

    i never stretch lol:D

  23. ImZacYall says:

    felt good!

  24. lasherza says:

should include a hip flexor stretch in here and it would be complete , otherwise excellent vid!

  25. pasadoorian says:

I have fibromyalgia and stretching is sooo important… This is great for me in the morning since I don’t have too much time in the morning for exercise. She is very down-to-earth and cute and I do this stretching every morning. thank you!
